EDUCATIONAL GOAL

Our vision is to be based on internationalization and localization, with the core of traditional Chinese humanistic spirit and cutting-edge innovative spirit in art, to carry out cross media art research and exploratory practice from a global perspective, and to become a leading center for cross media art innovation and education in the digital era, cultivating global talents with cutting-edge thinking and innovative abilities. Our department is student-centered and focuses on talent cultivation. We aim to build a team of talented individuals with interdisciplinary thinking, global perspectives, and leading artistic creativity. We aim to cultivate them into individuals with interdisciplinary thinking and interdisciplinary creative and research abilities, who can serve society, possess problem-solving skills, and possess creativity.

COLLEGE PROFILE

The Continuing Education College of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts was established in 1987 and is the only adult higher education institution in the northwest region. It is also a continuing education base for professional and technical personnel in Shaanxi Province, a leading examination institution for art majors in Shaanxi Province's higher education self-study examination, and a teaching base for advanced training courses at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. Over the past thirty years since its establishment, it has trained more than ten thousand senior professionals in the field of fine arts for various parts of the country.

Relying on the educational advantages of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, a unique, experienced, and structurally reasonable teaching staff has been formed. More than 90% of professional teachers hold a master's degree, and over 70% hold senior professional titles. Teachers have achieved remarkable scientific research results, publishing over a hundred academic papers, over a thousand art works, and nearly 30 monographs in various professional journals. Some teachers are also invited to give lectures and hold art exhibitions in Japan, the United States, Europe and other places to expand academic exchanges and influence. At the same time, the college also hires more than 50 influential painters and experienced part-time teachers from across the country.

CURRICULUM CONSTRUCTION AND TEACHING QUALITY

The Cross Media Art Department has been awarded the title of National First Class Professional Construction Site by the Ministry of Education for its public art major, experimental art major, and painting (comprehensive material painting direction).

TEXTBOOK PUBLISHING SITUATION

In the past five years, our department has actively carried out educational reform projects and participated in the construction of agricultural science, encouraging the writing and publication of textbooks and writings.Among them, "Conceptual Materials and Skills" was awarded the Excellent Textbook for Vocational Education and Higher Education in Shaanxi Province in 2023.

COMMUNITY SERVICE CONTRIBUTION AND REPUTATION

In terms of social services, the Cross Media Art Department's "Public Art Project Creation" course by Teacher Wang Mengmeng combines the educational philosophy of "promoting social aesthetic education through social practice", strengthens social practice, strengthens the cultivation of students' social awareness, and fully leverages the role of art in serving society and the local community. Our department fully utilizes the educational function of social practice courses, guiding students to love their hometown and people, participate in local cultural construction, carry out folk art research and practical activities, increase the knowledge-based and humanistic nature of the courses, enhance their leading, contemporary and open nature, and broaden their horizons through rural inspections and practices.In the summer of 2019, Teacher Li Jingkang led our department's volunteer service team to Xucun, Heshun County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province to participate in a half month long Xucun International Art Festival in the village for artistic creation and education related activities.
