Zhang Yaqian

I am a professional lecturer at the Cross Media Art Department of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. I graduated from the Printmaking Department of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 2009 with a master's degree and stayed on as a teacher in the same year. I am pursuing a PhD in Art History and Art Creation, mainly engaged in teaching and practical activities in contemporary art. I currently work and live in Xi'an.

I have participated in exhibitions such as the opening exhibition of the Xi'an Nanhu Art Museum and the "Solo: SRS Songming Rock" art project exhibition (OCAT Xi'an Museum)

The Sound Art Exhibition of "The Pronunciation of the Earth" (OCAT Xi'an Museum), the 2018 China (Xi'an) Youth Experimental Art Exhibition, the "Urban Geography: An Imagination of Urban History" Art Exhibition (OCAT Anren Exhibition Area), the "Wilderness" Centennial Chinese Rural Architecture Art Exhibition (Shijiazhuang Shicao Tang NIU Art Space), the "800" Art Exhibition (OCAT Xi'an Museum), and organizing participation in the "Stainless Baosteel" Art Project hosted by Shanghai Baosteel and Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. In 2015, the performance video "I Kill a Stone in Yangguan" participated in the "Section of Xi'an Contemporary Art with an accent" experimental art exhibition (Fangshan, Beijing), and the documentary "Benefiting the People" participated in the "What Should Happen Always Happens" Xi'an Contemporary Art Exhibition and was nominated for the main screening unit of the 4th Dalian Art Film Exhibition. In 2013, the installation work "The cooler, the faster" participated in the "Circuit: Xi'an Contemporary Art Invitation Exhibition in the Art District from 2011 to 2013.".

My experience in exhibition planning includes organizing the 8th Graduate Academic Month Special Recommendation Exhibition of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 2018, participating in the "Stainless Baosteel" Art Project hosted by Shanghai Baosteel and Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 2016, planning the "Section of Xi'an Contemporary Art with 'Accent'" Experimental Art Exhibition (Beijing Kunting Experimental Art Program) in 2015, organizing the "My University" Experimental Animation Exhibition (Xi'an Tianlang Art Museum) in 2013, and the "Voice Changing Period" Experimental Animation Exhibition at Banpo International Art City in Xi'an in 2012.
